Swimming

Special Needs Aquatic Program (SNAP) at the YMCA   Swimming serves as great exercise.  Please sign up with the Y as soon as possible.

The LLDSS sponsors swim lessons for people with disabilities. Held at the YMCA, these lessons are designed to provide water skills for a wide range of ages and abilities. The instructors for these lessons are experienced YMCA swim instructors. For swimmers ages six and under, the lessons are held in the YMCA’s small pool which is 2-3 feet deep and maintained at a warm temperature ideal for young children and babies. For swimmers seven and older, the lessons are held in the YMCA’s large pool which is 4-9 feet deep.

In an effort to ensure that the Special Needs Aquatic Program (S.N.A.P.) will continue thrive, LLDSS coordination with the American Business Club, has donated funds to underwrite the majority of the fees to participate.. Only a nominal fee will be charged for this excellent opportunity.

If you would like to join S.N.A.P. please contact Linda Pfeiffer at the YMCA at 217-544-9846 x31 You may also register via the web:   http://reg.springfieldymca.org/fol.exe?arg1=pgmfndr
